TOG / Interviewer / Presenter

I was dragged up on Rock 5 decades ago. So it was inevitable I would get more involved. Working for the late great legend Pete Clements from Beacon Radio and roadieing for local bands. Then in London, DJing 7 nights a week hiring venues and bands. Then moving up North I got back in to photography and shooting bands. It was The Quire Boys who invited me to come to their gigs and photograph them. It was at one of their gigs that I met Bad Touch. And fell in love with NWOCR. Shooting for them & Quire Boys. I began to get more and more involved even Loading in and out for them as I used to do it in my youth and knew my way around a stage I got even more involved with getting festivals helping whenever needed and shooting for magazines and radio stations. I Now find myself here at Rock Radio UK and I couldn't be happier. What will I be doing well will have to wait and see. What would I say I am? A Swiss Army Knife of live Rock n Roll. One Promoter even said, "Every festival needs a Neil"! I have hung around at load-in and sound check, and then something happens or is needed, and it gets sorted with no drama, no excitement it just gets done. Hopefully, I can bring that to Rock Radio UK.

Reviews & Interviews

From an early age it was Rock that spun my turntable mainly Sabbath, Zeppelin and Deep Purple. As my Album collection grew, so did the urge to see my favourite bands in concert, before long I was attending gigs far and wide (I still do !) This led me to writing reviews as ‘Dee Dee’ for Fanzines in the 1990s, including ‘Ruff Diamond’, ‘Splitting Headache’ and ‘Smokin’ Dragon’ and also contributing to ‘Brum Beat’ and ‘Kerrang!’ occasionally. After a long hiatus, just like vinyl, I returned in 2019 to writing reviews and interviewing bands, something I’ve always loved doing!
